If you tell me I can go frolic amongst sunflowers, wildflowers, dahlias and zinnias, you know I’ll be there.
There’s a new flower fest in town and it’s the Cultus Lake Flower Fest! Nestled in the town of Yarrow on your way into Cultus Lake, you’ll find this incredibly charming 3 acre property which boasts so many varieties of flowers to enjoy. The fest opens to the public on Saturday, August 10th, 2019!
Owner Jason Wenegast tells me that this is his first “flower garden” and all I can think is boy he didn’t start small!
A friend of mine, Danielle, is helping with the marketing for the fest and she asked me if I would like to come for a preview and of course I jumped at the chance! I basically had the place to myself which was ideal because I was using my trusty tripod and could do without the judgemental stares from other visitors.
Along with all the sunflowers and wildflowers (!), they have a gorgeous selection of dahlias and zinnias!
It’s a good thing I like sunflowers because there’s going to be A LOT of them on my IG. Especially because I’m heading to the Chilliwack Sunflower Fest later on in the month! It’s like this fun tradition I have now with my friend Brooklyn. We always get together to go snap photos at seasonal floral displays ie. the tulip festival in spring, the sunflower festival in summer, the pumpkin patch in fall and christmas trees in winter (this one has yet to happen but plans are in motion!)
I could have easily spent the entire day just lounging about in the wildflowers. There’s just something so magical about wildflowers.
